PREMANANDA MEMORIAL LEPROSY HOSPITAL
Premananda Memorial Leprosy hospital has 25 beds. We have regular outpatient clinics for Leprosy patients catering to all their needs . Being a referral centre, patients requiring expert care are referred from NGOs and the government .Patients from West Bengal, Bihar and other neighbouring states avail our services. Medical complications are managed with the supportive therapy of Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy departments. Specialized footwear for insensitive and deformed foot are custom made in the hospital. Artificial limbs are made and provided to our patients who require them.
Children are assisted to complete their education upto whatever level they want to pursue; eligible candidates are sent to our Vocational Training Centre at Bankura for various trades and to help them find placements or start their own business.
We have an adult literacy programme for the patients admitted in our hospital, teaching them to read and write, and also learn art and craft. This activity has changed many lives – making their stay in the hospital more enjoyable.

Diabetes has become endemic throughout the world, also in Kolkata. This is why Premananda Memorial Leprosy Hospital has started its Diabetes Clinic. PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS DEPARTMENT AND SHOE DEPARTMENT
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Unit has been meeting the needs of patients since. The Orthotic and Prosthetic Unit provides orthoses (braces/supportive devices) and prostheses (artificial limbs) to children and adolescents who have acute and/or chronic conditions requiring treatment. Our service is staffed by a dedicated Orthotists and Prosthetists who strive to provide the best possible service to patients through strong communication, professional development, clinical leadership and a team-focused approach.
The hospital also has a shoe department which makes customised footwear of Micro cellular Rubber(MCR) for all kinds of foot problems ranging from heel pain to deformed feet.
